May 19th, 2009

Small Baltic tour behind, did a workshop and judged a jam in Riga, Latvia, on friday until sunday. Sunday Flow Mo did a show in the ferry to Tallinn from Helsinki, all I can say in Tallink ain’t nothing to f&%@ with.

Check out this clip about a nice sunday ride in Moscow a couple of weeks back. How about giving shout outs 160 km/hour hahaha

Last weekend Mr Wiggles was in Helsinki for workshops, presented by the Super Funk jam. First of all gotta give a shout out for the girls for throwing the workshops, I learned so much and got mad inspired in one weekend. Secondly, where were the bboys?!? The workshops were pretty much packed but the number of actual breakers was from 4 to 8 a class, half of which were Flow Mo. If you get a chance to learn from the OGs in your home city there should be a waiting list of bboys to get in…. Spent my last euros to get in. Support your local organizer for making things happen!

80 Blocks from Tiffany’s

May 10th, 2009

Wassup Ya’ll

This year will be all about education. Learning, searching, sharing and  spreading knowledge.  Getting closer to the truth of this dance style and culture. I’m starting my blog with a Gary Weis’  documentary “80 Blocks from Tiffany’s”. It’s about South Bronx street gangs, mostly focusing on Savage Skulls and Savage Nomads, and it’s dated back to the summer of 1979. This goes out to everybody who’s looking for understanding of the environment and atmosphere in which hip hop got it’s birth.

The documentary is divided in 8 pieces (with some problem with the sound in the 7th). Check out the block party on the last sections. Stay tuned for more posts.
