A Detroit icon HouseShoes wondered how Kanye West could’ve produced “Selfish” by Slum Village. His thoughts made me think: listening to songs like “Heartless” feels absurd after hearing his earlier beats with Scarface, Beanie, Jay, Talib Kweli, Common etc.
Anyway, one “newer” Kanye track I’ve been liking a lot is “Let There Be Light” by Nas. Thanks to the vocals, it might even be a b-side for the soundtrack of my life. Lets keep the positivity highlighted.
Nas - Let There Be Light (prod. Kanye West)

Produced for Kool G Rap, Punchline (EMC), Verbal Threat, Ken Ring, Asa, Joniveli...

Kool, Let there be light has always been one of my favourite Nas joints too. Hamilton really blesses the chorus with his vocals! I don't know if ya'll have noticed but the vibe is somewhat similar to the Nas and 2pac track, Ghetto heaven…
Yea thanks for the comment, I'm feeling you. Tho the credits say it's Tre Williams on the hook…?
Anyway it's a great song for the weekend.
Damn, that's right! I remembered it was Hamilton…I always get mixed with these two. They kinda sound similar but then again not at all
They both are mad talented singers.
Yea, definitely talented.
