One of the most talented “newer” generation MCs, Elzhi, formerly from Slum Village, has been looking for his own solo sound for while. The search continues with the remake album of the legendary Illmatic in honor of Nas. Some of these tracks seem to stand out from other streetstyles and covers, REALLY. The live band Will Sessions recreated the sound in a real nice way to let Elzhi shine on the mic.

Red Bull Music Academy 2011 - Tokyo

It’s that time of the year again. There’s still about 2 weeks to apply for the Red Bull Music Academy, which connects music related people for two weeks this year in Tokyo. The previous lecturers have included DJ Premier, Questlove, Just Blaze, Black Milk, A-Trak… The list is long.

I had the honor to participate RBMA in Toronto 2007 and I gotta say it was an unbelievable experience. For example DJ Premier, Jake One, Om’Mas Keith and Arthur Baker were lecturers / studio team members when I was there.
