Nas - Let There Be Light & Kanye West

A Detroit icon HouseShoes wondered how Kanye West could've produced "Selfish" by Slum Village. His thoughts made me think: listening to songs like "Heartless" feels absurd after hearing his earlier beats with Scarface, Beanie, Jay, Talib Kweli, Common etc.

Anyway, one "newer" Kanye track I've been liking a lot is "Let There Be Light" by Nas. Thanks to the vocals, it might even be a b-side for the soundtrack of my life. Lets keep the positivity highlighted.

Large Professor feat. Nas - One Plus One

Large Professor, known from the legendary Main Source, has finally managed to release "The LP" album. "The LP" was originally supposed to be released in 1996, but the label, Geffen, dropped the project back then.

In 1993, Large Pro finished his A Tribe Called Quest (Keep It Rollin') verse with the famous phrase: "Queens represent, buy the album when I drop it". However, his debut album didn't see the daylight until 2002.

When "Hip-hop Is Dead" by Nas dropped (2006), people were wondering why the last song is an acapella. The song had originally a beat by Wyldfyer, but it didn't make the album because of difficulties in clearing the sample.
